This week Adam welcomes head coach of the UNT Mean Green Eagles, David Heeps! As a product of Texas hockey, David started playing roller hockey and transitioned through the game moving to slap shot in Arlington Texas, to the house leagues in Euless. Adam and David discuss the roadmap the young athletes can take and the differences between the junior leagues.
Coach Heeps explains how he started coaching and some of the aspects of the coaching lifestyle that many don’t think about.
Adam and David explore some harder concepts within the game that younger players have difficult understanding and utilizing during games. They add on ways to explore communication and coaching techniques at the younger levels that will develop through the higher levels of the game.
